Matthew M Gracie

Professional Experience
Mr. Gracie is an experienced Change Leader using his extensive experience as a Lean and Six Sigma professional. He has worked as a consultant for more than a decade: advising, coaching and training many organizations since leading Motorola’s Six Sigma improvement programme in EMEA in the 90′s.
Mr. Gracie has supported and coached many Executive, Black and Green Belt projects from many industrials including: automotive, building supplies, consumer goods, financial services, healthcare, heavy engineering, packing, pharmaceuticals, postal, power generation, and transportation. Improvement Projects have been focus on all aspects of these industries and include : Back office performance, customer complaints, cycle time reduction, design accuracy, distribution, margin erosions, NPI, productivity, sales performance, scrap reduction and yield improvement.
His interest in Quality Systems date back to his first role in Motorola as product Engineer, there he was responsible for the quality standard of several high volume semiconductor products. Later he developed this into assessment skills as part of Motorola’s Quality System Review process, which led him onto the Baldrige and EFQM improvement methods in the 90′s.
The development of employees is a key focus for Mr. Gracie, helping others to realize their potential and he has held several training and development positions with Motorola and Digital Equipment Corporation. In these role Mr. Gracie focused on developing critical business competencies, to match the business strategy, both to achieve the long-term vision and the operational near term requirements.
As an engineer in the early 80′s, Mr. Gracie worked on using data inform and forecast possible future process yields, an early indication of the key interest he would form in Six Sigma tools, during the 90′s.
Mr. Gracie has presented at serveral Lean Six Sigma conferences and business improvement seminars. Mr. Gracie is a member of the Demming network in his native Scotland.
Education
Mr. Gracie received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow. He has taken extensive training in ISO 9000 & QS 9000 processes and is a trained EFQM assessor.
